Return to the Painted Desert: PART II
The Painted Desert is an area rich in color and texture. Over the eons layers with different minerals built up one after the other. Geological movement churned and mixed layers which eroded at different rates, all working together to produce the landscapes that I believe to be unparalleled anywhere. It would be excellent if you would disagree with me because that would give me an excuse to disappear on another photo expedition... 1/.

I like #6,8 and 9.
Oh, wow, Maarten -- I love the lighting contrast between #1 and 2 -- how obliging of that cloud! (That's not a cinder cone -- but #8 & 10 sure looks like a quake slip!) Wonderful colors, and fascinating geology, botany, etc. Beautiful!

Thank you Mary Sue. I like that one as well. I like them when the give the impression that you can just walk into the picture. That one gets it right for me, especially when it is blown up,
