Thank you, Denise. I could not agree with you more. I do believe that there would be many great spots out there.
@MaartenVenter - oh yeah, many ...
I see him. Fabulous pictures.
@Jaynebug -
Thank you, Lyne.
@MaartenVenter - Happy trails!
@Jaynebug -
We should work together. I'll take the pictures and you can write the articles.
@MaartenVenter - Let me know if your serious about that. I'm for hire. (toothy smile)

I wish that I was. Maybe when I retire I can travel more to find some time to take real nice photos. These are holiday snaps with little consideration for light conditions. It is basically a take it or leave it situation. I traveled to Maine last week only to find that most of the color was already on the ground. On my return I passed through Atlanta, GA, only to find that I should have spent the time there but I had no real choice in the matter.
Wonderful shots again, Maarten. While I do see the pharoah, I also like the 'wanderlust' shot with the road through it -- it really shows off the many colors of the area!

Thank you, Janet. It was Heater who convinced me to include roads now and then. I am glad you like it too.
Did you hike up the hill in #5 to take the photo with the road below? I like #12 also, wonderful perspective. I also like the petrified sand dunes. It looks like there are giant animal footprints in them. Peace
@shellisland -
Yes, I went to the top of the hill to see more of the blue mountain in the distance. There was a petrified log in the hill but it was fenced off very closely and I could not get a photo of the log without the fence so I gave up. You know, it would be very interesting to know the history of a place like this. I may have been a sea then a forest and now a desert...
@MaartenVenter - I think you take fine pictures. Good that you can go where the beauty stretches out in front of you like in the painted desert. I have missed many photo opts either as you experienced with seasonal timing or forgotten camera, but that's just the nature of photography, eh? Have a wonderful week.
@Jaynebug -
Thank you, Lyne. I also feel that I miss too many opportunities but not due to a forgotten camera. I usually miss them because of time. Or the lack of it. But I can't complain - I guess I had my fair share of photos that I like. After all I don't have clients that needs to be pleased so I just do it the way I see best at the time. I hope you have a great week too.
