The Painted Desert - In my Tribe I could not get the song to start automatically so please "shift" + click the link and then minimize the new page if you would like to hear it. Yesterday's photos were pretty bleak but today's will be much more colorful. I am still amazed about the colors to be found out there. See if you agree.
The dark mountain intrigued me most and I wish I could spend a whole day in the vicinity
Lake Las Vegas
Browns and Blues
The edge of Lake Meade near Lake Las Vegas in the distance
Shades of Brown and Grey (this could be a new fashion statement)
The colors are the result of different minerals
Wounded desert
The colors seem to change with the time of day
Browns and greys compliment the Blues
Awesome shades

The colours are truly amazing! The pics remind me of different coloured sands that are sometimes layered in bottles. Amazing how many colours can be seen when you really look at it..... Well done you!!
I love the shades of brown and gray.
I can't wait to see more of your trip. We lived in that part of the US for three year, it is fun to see it through your eyes, Thanks M!
Great shots - but somehow they don't seem to do full justice to the greatness of the scenery, maybe it's a question of size...
my fave is the browns & blues
@relaxolgy -
Size is a big problem for me. I like photos to be big, no large, actually huge but I keep them small because it is so easy to nab them off the net.
@MaartenVenter - I hear ya! They are still wonderful.
Absolutely beautiful pictures. Thank you for stopping by.
Missed you lots, but glad you brought us some awesome pics!
The second photo is my fave thus far.
The mountain and lake look so amazing.
Spectacular, but I would be lost without my trees. I remember when I lived in Montana how I missed the deciduous trees and the song birds that they attract.
@adventofreason - Thank you, Cindy. Nevada has its own fascination which is very otherworldly to me. Very diverse in scenery, which changes at every turn. I loved Montana though, for when we were there the Golden Tamarisk were changing into there winter garments and I was worried that they might have a disease for I had never seen "Pine" trees lose its green color.
I could do my whole wardrobe out of the shades in these photos!
@craftea - Hello Heather, Thank you for stopping by. It was quit nice to see my old pictures again.
