  • The Painted Desert: PART IV

I never would have believed you if you told me about the colors in the Painted Desert, and when I look at these pictures I see them almost as if for the first time. I know just one thing: I would really like to get back to the deserts of Nevada, Arizona and Utah. I also would like to visit the deserts of Colorado. But for now these images will have to serve as a reminder of a lot of oohs and aahs uttered as I ran around from one vantage point to another.

  •  I am using this link to an absurd and disturbing blog as my comment!

I was in the painted dessert in 1986. Perhaps the most incredible sight I ever saw was a thunderstorm crossing the highway ahead of us over a mesa... as the sun was nearing sunset behind us... the lightning strikes... the deep prussian blue sky above us... the violets and oranges of the sun on the cloud tops... and a full rainbow from horizon to horizon... to the third order... with  several fragments of a fourth order rainbow... and the painted desert all around...

  • Incredible photos!!!!!

You certainly astound me with your wonderful collection of pics. ^_^
